Abstract

The purpose of this article is to show the impact of Colombian government spending on the solar energy transition of 2018. This analysis is based on information provided by DANE, multiple documents given by UPME and information given by XM, La República, and the World Bank, with the purpose of identifying how government spending is distributed in different areas, in turn, observing the percentage invested in energy. The results of the studies led to observe the impact of government spending over time from the year 2018 show that in the year 2020 it presented a large investment to projects in the energy transition. Additionally, key regions of Colombia for energy transition are shown and the different positive and negative factors that have contributed in the support programs, evidencing strengths and weaknesses in this route towards energy transition.
