This article presents a theoretical summary of the behavior and design of micropiles, complemented by the analysis of two application cases in the city of Bogotá. It describes the fundamental principles of the system, the load transfer mechanisms, and the general calculation criteria associated with this type of deep foundation, highlighting its versatility in reinforcement, underpinning, and settlement control works. Based on the experience in case studies, aspects related to the structural and geotechnical performance of micropiles in real construction conditions are analyzed, as well as construction considerations relevant to their implementation in urban environments. The results and observations presented demonstrate the adequate performance of this solution in soils with geometric and construction restrictions, highlighting its usefulness as an efficient technical alternative in land rehabilitation and improvement projects. The work provides an applied vision based on professional experience, aimed at decision-making in the design and execution of micropiles.
